Some are using traditional methods & bow fish’n has produced some big ones! It’s time to get ready for hunting season & Edisto Outboard & Marine is stocked with the equipment you will need. It’s time to get ready for Deer Season! When you're ready to have that trophy Buck mounted, bring it to FREDDY'S LOWCOUNTRY TAXIDERMY. He's located off of Hwy. 63 about 5 miles from I-95 out of Walterboro. He does quality taxidermy at reasonable prices! The 2008 Shark Tournament was held out of Bennett’s Point in late May. BLACK WATER BAIT & TACKLE @ Jellico's Landing has minnows, crickets & worms & other bait & tackle supplies. They also have canoe & kayak rentals, so stop by for your bait needs, or just stop by & visit while you enjoy a cold beer or soft drink. They are a convenient access to the Edisto River, with the landing right next to the bridge, on Hwy. 17A. Fish the bottom in the deeper holes with cut bait for Catfish & fish at night to get those big Flathead. In the early morning & evening Largemouth bass fish'n is very productive. Bass can be caught on Texas rigged or floating worms and top water plugs fished close to structure on the bank, early and late in the day. Have a very safe 4th of July!

The good folks at LOW COUNTRY MARINE in Walterboro have gotten first hand reports that the bream, shellcracker and redbreast fishing is really good using crickets, worms and beetle spins on the Edisto River, near the banks & best during a full moon. Bass can be caught on Texas rigged or floating worms and top water plugs fished close to structure on the banks early and late in the day or at night. In the coastal creeks around Edisto Island Spottail bass are hitting on mud minnows and cut mullet worked near live oyster beds on the falling tide. Low Country Marine is stocked with everything you will need to go fishing in the Low Country, and it’s not to early to start getting your food plots, tree stands and supplies for the up coming deer hunt’n season.
