The 17th ANNUAL PEE
DEE DEER CLASSIC will
be held on 30 July, 31 July, and 1st of August at the Florence
Civic Center. This is a great annual show with plenty of hunting
displays and super deals for the hunter.

reports most of the locals are fishing on Santee Cooper Lakes
or on area rivers. The catfish can be caught in the Diversion
Canal and in the old riverbed on Lake Marion using cut bait, mussels,
worms, or stink baits fished on the bottom especially at night.
Bream fishing has been good in local ponds and rivers, using crickets,
Flip o poppie & foster and worms. For the hunters they have
a good selection of ammo, camo clothing, hunting boots, plenty
of Deer Stands, and hunting accessories. They carry Mathews, Mission,
Parker, Bow Tech, Ross, and PSE bows. They can tune up your bows

bass, bream and catfish being caught in local ponds and on the

fishing has really picked up in the last couple of weeks for spottail,
trout, croakers, and flounder. Off shore has been hot. The front
of the store has an area with plenty of pictures taken of recent
fish caught in the area. They sell both retail & wholesale

GRUBER’S HUNTING PRESERVE and DUCK AND DOVE CLUB (843-563-1159,
843-563-4262) located 3 miles south of St George SC at 265 Old
Bell Road has Dove, Ducks, and Quail hunting at its finest. Stanley
says; Take a day off from the rigors of everyday life and enjoy
some Southern hospitality with us. Your hunting party will be
the only one hunting in the woods and cultivated food plots. We
have a kennel of fine English pointers to choose from or you’re
welcome to bring your own dogs. In addition to quail hunting,
we also offer a Duck Club. Hunts are every Saturday over duck
impoundments planted with corn and Japanese millet. Our ducks
fly as well as any wild mallard and we also have some wild birds
coming to the impoundments. Our quail are grown here on the preserve
and we have extremely large flight pens. Our birds fly exceptionally
well. We have a lodge available to our guest. We welcome corporate
businesses. Also, we do European style tower shoots for pheasant.
All of our hunts include snacks and drinks. Plus, we do Wild Hog
and Deer hunts.

52 N just going into Kingstree by the Black River. They carry
plenty of live bait of all kinds, frozen eels, crappie jigs, tackle
items, and a fish story or two. The Country Corner Kitchen provides
some of the best home cooking around with an assortment of menu
items. Bass, catfish, and bream are being caught on the river
and lakes and farm ponds on worms, minnows and crickets. Hunters
are starting to think about the upcoming deer and dove season.

for coastal creek or river fishing, shrimping or hunting. River
fishing for catfish has been pretty good. Saltwater fishing has
