Tom at INLET CONVENIENCE
AND FISHING SUPPLIES (located at 4463 Hwy. 17 Bus. Murrells
Inlet) tell us everyone wants to go fishing early and late in
the day because of the heat. Spottails and black drum are being
caught around the jetties. Dead shrimp, live mullet, and fiddler
crabs are the best baits on the bottom Carolina rigged around
the rocks or try under floats. Flounder are in the inlets and
can be caught on the bottom using mud minnows. Trout are being
caught in the creeks on mud minnows around shell banks and grass
with moving water. Also try deep holes at low tide. Spanish and
Kings are just off the beaches and piers and can be caught on
live bait and spoons. Croakers and whiting are being caught in
the inlets and surf using cut bait. Inlet Convenience and Fishing
Supplies does rod and reel repair and has everything you will
need for a great day of fishing, so come on down and do some fishing
and relaxing.
RICKS BAIT AND TACKLE in Conway, is fully stocked
and has everything you need for the fishing. For the bass fishermen
they have a large selection of plastic worms by Zoom, Culprit,
Haw River and Net Baits. You need to check out the spinnerbaits
and buzzbaits by Waccamaw River Baits. For the pan fisherman,
they have a great selection of Zebco reels, a huge selection of
beetlespins and 110 different kinds of corks. They have telescopic
poles by Lil Jewel, Silstar and South Bend, crickets year around,
green red worms, live shiners and more. Rick said the fishing
has been good on the Waccamaw River using their worms and shiners.
Bream are being caught in the deeper holes on the river, using
worms. Bass are also caught with the use of live shiners, worms
and buzzbaits. Ricks Bait and Tackle is open 7 days a week
(Sunday til 3). Licenses are available. You need to stop in and
get an up to date fishing report, have a cold drink, cold beer

FARMERS GRAIN &
MILLING is located
at 3167 County Line Road, Andrews and they have the largest supply
of live stock feed in the area. Farmers Grain & Milling offer
all the fishing and hunting supplies you would ever need. They

FISHERMANS
HEADQUARTERS
in Conway (Hwy. 701 S.) specializes in all kinds of Bait. Jay
offers Bass Minnows, Crappie Minnows, and Goldfish Minnows (year
round). He has, Crickets, Red Worms, Live Eels and Cut Bait. Come
check all his specials, (he has 2 for 1 on worms). Jay stated
the fishing has been great, good conditions on the Waccamaw, Little
Pee Dee and the Big Pee Dee Rivers, bream are being caught on
crickets and worms. Largemouth bass are being caught on large
minnows and worms. The catfishing continues to be good using goldfish
and live eels (sold at our store). On the coast he is getting
reports the Blues, Whiting and Spanish mackerel are being caught.
Fishermans Headquarters opens at 5:30am to 5:30pm, Monday
thru Saturday. Jay offers 2009 tide charts and he now has a large
full line of fire works. So stop by and let Jay give you a report

2nd AVENUE FISHING
PIER is open
for the summer fishing season on the Grand Strand. This pier offers
rod and reel rental and has plenty of bait and tackle for catching
fish off the pier. Good numbers of whiting have been caught on
cut shrimp. The pier has a coral bottom, which attracts flounder,
and with the warm water flounder can be caught on mud minnows.
Spots can be caught on bloodworms. Spanish mackerel and pompano
being caught with shrimp on a 2-hook bottom rig. Bluefish being
caught on float rods with live bait. The restaurant is open and
serving all you favorites. The 2nd Avenue Fishing Pier has all
you need for a great day of fishing and sun!

BARRINEAUS
MARINE, on Hwy.
41 Business in Andrews has a new stock of River Hawk boats and
Wesco trailers. These rigs have been going fast! Whit and Earl
also have a great selection of Duracraft aluminum boats and Nissan
Outboards. Barrineaus is a great place to bring your outboard
to get serviced. They also sell and service lawn mowers, trimmers
and chain saws. Drop by and let them show you all they have to
offer. July is the time to get some crickets and worms and head
to the Black River and catch some bream, redbreast or try worms
on the bottom for some good catfish.
The PIER AT GARDEN
CITY is open for the season. They rent rods and reels and
have all your popular baits. This is a great place to go with
all the family and enjoy the pier fishing, food and arcade games.
The Pier is located 8 miles south of Myrtle Beach in the heart
of Garden City Beach on the South Strand. The Pier at Garden City
is 668 ft. long with a rain shelter at the end of the pier. There
is no charge to walk on the pier to enjoy the view and check out
the daily catches of the fishermen. The Pier at Garden City offers
daily, weekly and season passes (Mar. 1- Dec. 31). Come have some
fun! They suggest you fish with shrimp, bloodworms or cut bait
for skates, whiting, small sharks and bluefish. Spanish mackerel
are hitting gold hook jigs and Got-cha plugs. Red drum are being
caught on cut bait. Some flounder are being caught on mud minnows,
and pompano can be caught on sand fleas.
PERRYS BAIT
& TACKLE on
business 17 stated as far as Murrells Inlet, the Flounder fishing
has been good with the high water temps. Large Spottail Bass are
being caught at the jetties using live shrimp or live finger mullet.
The Black Drum can also be caught with these or even fiddlers
on the bottom near the rocks. Sheepshead are at our jetties and
down in Georgetown using Fiddlers and live sand fleas. We have
even had reports of small Cobia and Spanish being caught inside
the jetties trolling spoons or live mullet. Off the beaches, Pompano
are being caught using live sand fleas. Black Drum are being caught
using head on creek shrimp. The ever-present Blues and Whiting
can keep you busy in the surf. The piers are catching Flounder
and Sheepshead as well as Spanish and King Mackerel. At the reefs,
Spadefish are whats biting. With not too many jellyballs
in sight, have fun catching them off the wrecks with live shrimp!
We offer mud minnows, live shrimp, live finger mullet, large live
mullet for offshore trolling, fiddler crabs, live sand fleas,
live pinfish and anything else you want by request. Also enjoy
a variety of fresh bait to cut: shrimp, mullet and menhaden. We
have Shiners, crappie minnows, and crickets for all our pond and
river fishermen. Perrys Bait & Tackle is just 1/2 mile
north of the Murrells Inlet public boat landing.
